5.    In the dialog box, choose the location to save your backup copy, and then type the name of a file in ‘Filename’ box.
6.    After selecting the location and typing the file name, click ‘Save’ to create the registry backup.  

STAGE 2:

 
After creating the registry backup, you can enable the AHCI driver. Use the following steps to enable the driver:
1.    Close all Windows based programs, and then click the ‘Start’ menu.
2.    In the search box, type “regedit.exe,” and then hit ‘ENTER’ on the keyboard to open the ‘Registry Editor’ window.
3.    The User Account Control dialog box appears before you, then you need to click ‘Continue’ to proceed.
4.    In the ‘Registry Editor’ window, try to locate either "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci" or "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\IastorV" subkey.
5.    Once you find the respective subkey, click on it.
6.    Now, in the right pane, go to the ‘Name’ column.
7.    In the ‘Name’ column, right-click ‘Start,’ and then click ‘Modify.’
8.    Now, type ‘0’ in ‘Value’ data box, and then click ‘OK.’
9.    Click the ‘File’ menu, and then click ‘Exit’ to quit the ‘Registry Editor.’  
After applying the troubleshooting steps, you may be able to change the SATA mode of the boot drive to either AHCI specification or RAID features.
