How to Install the New Configuration File Using iPhone Configuration Utility?

1.                Download and install the configuration utility for your iPad( http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/enterprise/) and iPhone (http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/enterprise/)

2.                Run the setup and install the utility on your Windows PC.

3.                Double-click the utility icon to open it and click on ‘File’ > ‘New Configuration Profile’ to create your new profile.

4.                Now, configure the identity of the new profile by adding a suitable name to it. Always try to summarize, the basic aim and purpose of the profile in its name to avoid any future confusion.

5.                The next step is to fill the ‘Identifier’ field with a name and try doing it in the following format. For example, if it is your VPN profile, then enter ‘com.tobiasvpn.profile.’

6.                Now, select the ‘VPN’ section in the utility and click ‘Configure’ to configure or customize settings.

8.                Since you’ve successfully created the new configuration file, you’ll need to email the profile on your iPhone/iPad to install it. Click the ‘Share’ button, accept the default option to ‘Sign Configuration Profile’ and again click ‘Share.’

9.                Now, it will open a new email message and attach the profile file to it.

10.            Send the email from your Windows PC on your iPhone and look for it in your inbox.

11.            Review the email, touch the attachment and install your newly created profile.

12.            You will see the ‘Install Profile’ screen, touch ‘Install’ button to download and install your newly created profile.

13.            iPhone security features might send information regarding the file security and seek permission to continue. Touch ‘Install Now’ button and enter your PIN number, if enabled.

14.            Your phone will now ask for the password for your account name, provide the details and touch ‘Next.’

15.            Once the installation process gets over, touch ‘Settings’ to view a new menu item – ‘VPN.’

16.            If you can see it, touch the ‘VPN’ switch to begin connecting.
