·         Try to connect the phone line directly to the modem without using a splitter. 

·         You should call the ISP to verify the ADSL line. 

·         Now come again to the light indicators. 

·         When you plug in the PC, make sure that the corresponding LAN light is on or flashing.
·         If you are setting up wireless router, then you make sure that the light for wireless signal is also on by default.  

Router Installation:


Before you go for the installation, you must keep information related to the username, password, connection type, VPI/VCI number handy to keep the process smooth. You get the VPI/VCI number from your ISP. If you are doubtful about the information, then you should call your service provider and verify the information before using them at the time of installation. 

There are two methods of installing the modem router. The first method is to run the Easy Setup Assistant using the CD. The second method is to run Quick Setup/Quick Start on the web management page.  
You should look for a mini disk that you get with the modem package if you are using the Easy Setup Assistant. This process is suitable for Windows computers. Those who don't have the CD can visit the OEM website and then download the required software for router setup

MAC OS PC users should follow the second method by running Quick Setup/Quick Start process.

Check the WAN Status:


The next step is to check the WAN status. If the status of the WAN is still showing Down/PPP Down/Authentication Failure then it means that the Internet is not set up properly and needs review and changes in the setup. 

Follow the below-listed tips to troubleshoot the issue with the WAN status. 

    First of all verify the information with your ISP. 

    In case of any discrepancy, you should once again run the Quick Setup/ Start.

While you verify the information, you must double-check the information like username, password, connection type and VPI/VCI number. 

    Also, ensure that you are using the username and password correctly. 

    Remember that both username and password is case-sensitive so take care of that.

    If you email address is an email ID, then you need to enter the whole ID like abc@xyz.com.  

    Last but not the least, you should pay attention to the letter ‘O’ and ‘0’ (zero) so don’t get confused between these two because of their similar appearance.
